Best known as the writer of the wonderful Yellowman, Dael Orlandersmith demonstrates her performance talents in her powerful solo show about an overweight girl in '70s Harlem, along with her fellow art-geek friend. The tale's a bit predictable, but Orlandersmith's down-and-dirty performance is astonishing.
Ron Hutchinson's comedy about one wild week in the rewriting of the Gone With the Wind movie isn't entirely plausible but makes for enjoyably heady farce. Scott Cummins directs a razor-sharp cast, with Rob Nagle's David O. Selznick, Kip Gilman's Ben Hecht and Grey Mullavey's Victor Fleming.
